This page was established to serve as a source of quality music for you. ( Ouughh .... Yeeeaaah ... I think that songs composed by me aren't bad too. Don't you believe me ?? Try something and after listening you can send me f*****g mail, if you want ). Nevertheless .... from this page you can download some good digital music files and play them on your sound card.
Players and trackers you can download from my GUS page. This is because all the players
(which I have) support preferably UltraSound Cards.

Recommendation:

- for old MODs (4-channels) should standard Soundblaster (Pro) card be enough.
- for my more channel XMs minimum is SB16 and about 50% of energy of your CPU. But I can recommend any Ultrasound card (or some ..hmm.. SB AWE model + good player with AWE native support). Or TerraTec EWS64 with Mod4Win should be the best solution in the future.
- for listening MIDI files standard Blaster isn't suitable. Yes, of course, I know software emulators of wavetable synthesis working under DOS or Windows, but software mixing produces scratch noices, cuts notes and not all the emulators can interprete all the notes and effects. What I can recommend are following WAVETABLE cards: Roland Sound Canvas (MT-32 has some incompatibilities in instrument maping), Turtle Beach (each wavetable model but one of the best is MULTISOUND), Gravis Ultrasound models in this order: PnP, Max, Extreme, Classic and ACE), EWS64 (hopefuly the best card in these days but I've no other information, about this one, besides information from manufacturer's homepage), some YAMAHAs and ..hmm.. Soundblaster models (AWE32 - p.s. AWE64 = cheap marketing trick - and SB32).
Different players (from manufacturers) play MIDI files differently. Windows Media player always doesn't play them correctly too. So that if the song sounds strange => try another player or sequencer (e.g. Cakewak Pro).
The same could be said about MODS, but there is always tracker where the MOD was written in. So that if you've troubles try play the file in it.

For inexperienced people is there List of formats, its possibilities and names of their editors.
The first column contains the name, the second name of editor, the third indicate max. number of channels, the fourth the quality of instruments in bits, the fifth max. of possible channels, the sixth if are channels MONO or STEREO (Stereo channels means that its panning is optional. MONO channels cannot be changed and its panning positions are fixed to the left or to the right). And the last, seventh, column indicate name of hardware where each format was established on. Listed are only the most popular formats and not all existing (because it could make me crazy).

All these MODs were written by me with TRITON's wonderful FAST TRACKER II. Last changes I have made in version 2.07 . That is why some older programs (like Cubic Player 1.6) read wrong the messages in the songs. All MODs were written with GUS ( besides Midnight Answer and Popelka ; these ones I have composed with SB Pro ). I have used almost 16-bit samples but there are some 8-bit samples too. :-) To play these songs correctly use: editor (FT2, if possible the latest version, it ,means 2.07), XTC Player (0.81) or CUBIC Player (1.7, 2.0). The excellent one is also the last version of MOD4WIN (2.40).
